The dangers of farm work were again highlighted when a man hurt in an accident on a farm had to be airlifted to a Leeds Hospital after he became trapped in farm machinery
It appears the accident happened on a farm at Stutton near Tadcaster in the early morning on October 10th
As in all serious farm accidents where there is injury the Health and Safety Executive are investigating the circumstances and will provide a report in due course.
The Health and Safety Executive have the powers to bring criminal proceedings against farm work employers depending on the extent to which they may have disregarded or not properly considered the safety of farm workers they employ.
In this case the condition of the farm worker who press reports indicate was 40 years old is not yet known.
