A Grandmother from Wallsend on Tyneside suffered what she described as a holiday from hell in Egypt when she and her grandson and family suffered food poisoning at an Egyptian Holiday resort
They were staying an a four star hotel in Sharm El Sheikh when they suffered diarrhoea and stomach cramps as well as feeling sick and vomiting.
The youngest of the party was 2o months and was particularly badly affected and still continues to suffer some 10 months after the holiday.
The family blamed the poor conditions in the hotel including what were described as swarms of flies around the area where food was being served. There is also an allegation that the food was in fact undercooked.
The matter is being investigated and the full cause of the outbreak will hopefully be known soon. The family are bringing a claim for compensation.
